The Anstey Residents Group [ARG] has been set up to address planning issues and to give a voice to the residents in the area adjacent to the Coors sports ground.

Our aims and objectives are:

• To support and protect the present green open space in Anstey Park, and the sport and recreational facilities at the Coors site for the benefit of the town.

• Acknowledging that a wholly residential area is an unsuitable environment for a commercial development, to oppose the building of a supermarket on the Coors sports ground.

• To support the introduction of a second large supermarket of sufficient stature and suitable location to compete with existing stores.

• In the event of development on the Coors site being inevitable, it should be of a residential nature, of an appropriate density and be commensurate with the existing character of the area.
